Hassan Omar Hassan is a commissioner with the Kenyan National Human Rights Commission. An advocate for human rights from a Muslim perspective, he has been active in the work of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims and Muslims for Human Rights. He also promotes democratic governance, particularly through his work as a founder and board member of the Muslim Consultative Council and the Muungano wa Mageuzi (Movement for Change) lobby group. Hassan earned a Bachelors of Law degree (LLB) from Moi University, Kenya, and led several national and regional student organizations while in school.
