Heidi Hadsell is president and professor of social ethics at Hartford Seminary. Hadsell previously served as director of the World Council of Churches' Ecumenical Institute in Bossey, Switzerland. She also served as dean of McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, and she has taught at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianopolis, Brazil and the University of Southern California. Hadsell is widely published on ecumenism, environmental ethics, inter-religious relations, and the public role of religion in society. She sits on several national and international boards, including Globethics.net, the Day for Prayer and Action for Children, Wabash Institute for Teaching & Learning in Theological Education, Association of Theological Schools, and the Advisory Board of the Muslim Council of Singapore. She was a participant in the International Higher Education Interfaith Leadership Forum. Hadsell holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, M.A. from Union Theological Seminary, and Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.
