Sr. Joanna Salib is a member of the Community of the Daughters of St. Mary Sisters in Beni Suef, Egypt. She is also a physician who manages the Coptic Center for Training and Development, where she carries out programs in 20 villages in the province of Beni Suef; the work covers primary healthcare, health education, environmental health, reproductive health, income-generating projects, and ending female genital mutilation. Salib has a B.Sc. in medicine from Tanta University in Egypt and M.A. in community health from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
