K.A.M. Saaduddin currently serves as adjunct professor in the Department of World
Religions and Culture at University of Dhaka, where he has been teaching for
more than 50 years. He has also taught at Pennsylvania
Military College and Penn Morton University. In 1969 he joined the University of Dhaka's newly established Department of Sociology, subsequently becoming associate professor and chairman of the department. A highly respected
academic, Saaduddin was twice elected as the dean of the Faculty of
Social Sciences, three times elected as the president of Dhaka University
Teachers' Association, and elected several times as president of the
University Teachers' Federation. He holds a M.A. in Political Science from the University of Dhaka and an M.A. of Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, which he attended as a UNESCO fellow.
