Korina Giaxoglou is a senior lecturer at The Open University, UK. She is a narrative sociolinguist researching narrative and affect across contexts with a special focus on death, dying, and mourning. Her Ph.D. thesis proposed a framework for understanding laments (mirolóyia) in Inner Mani (South Peloponnese, Greece) as ethnopoetic narratives entextualised in local folklore collections. Her later work turned to practices of mourning in digital contexts. She is the author of A Narrative Approach to Social Media Mourning (Routledge, 2020) and co-editor of Small Stories Research (Routledge, 2023) and The Routledge Handbook of Language and Social Media Around the World (2026).
