Laura Sofía Lozano Trujillo is a student at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali, Colombia, studying law and political science. She is a member of the IAJU Global Citizenship Fellows Program 2025 cohort. Sofía has participated in global initiatives such as volunteering at COP 16 as a UN Volunteer and collaborating with NGOs. Additionally, Sofía served as a teaching assistant for the master’s program in human rights and culture of peace, where she supported students and fostered collaborative learning environments. She has also worked with Colombia Líder, evaluating municipal development plans focused on the well-being of children and youth. Living in Guatemala has further enriched Sofía’s understanding of different cultures, deepening her commitment to diversity and global citizenship. Moreover, Sofía is deeply motivated by her work with organizations like Make-A-Wish and Samaritanos de la Calle, as they inspire her to contribute meaningfully to communities in need. These experiences have strengthened her dedication to create positive impacts, promote sustainable development, and connect with diverse perspectives to build meaningful change.
