Lauren Schreiber is an artist, activist, and event curator with a background in youth development, arts education, and community organizing. She is the executive director of Center DC, which serves the spiritual and social needs of American Muslims and other faith seekers, and the founder and host of ArtBetweenUs, Washington, D.C.’s first quarterly all-women’s open mic for an all women’s audience. She also works for Critical Exposure, a youth leadership organization in the District. She previously was academy director for Words Beats and Life, Inc., overseeing arts programming, and outreach and events manager at the Council on American-Islamic Relations, where she led development of youth leadership programming. Schreiber serves on the boards of the Islamic Research & Humanitarian Center of America and Project Reach, a non-profit organization that mentors Muslim youth in the D.C. metropolitan area. She’s also part of the planning committee for the annual DC Interfaith Leadership Summit.
