Megumi Mallari is a junior at Sophia University in Tokyo set to graduate in March 2023, studying political science, anthropology, and sociology. Born and raised in Davao, Philippines, Megumi was exposed to various community support initiatives, which ignited a desire to take part in the alleviation of social issues. She takes an active role in the Sophia Refugee Support Group where she is empowered by fellow students who are eager to contribute to refugee issues in Japan. She is a member of the IAJU Global Citizenship Fellows Program 2021 cohort.
