Mohammad Nazrul Islam is the program director of the Reducing Violence Against Women program, the director of Expanding Economic Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, and assists in the management of the Civil Society Fund of the South Asia Water Governance Program Bangladesh. As a development specialist, he has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of education, professional development training, and public health, including 24 years of experience in directly managing USAID-funded programs. He has served as the chief of party for the Leaders of Influence Program, and he designed and implemented a training program for community leaders across Bangladesh. He served as education advisor to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangladesh and held senior manager positions with Pathfinder International. He has a postgraduate degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. and a B.A. (Honors) in English from the University of Rajshahi.
