Nick Wertsch graduated from Georgetown in 2009 with a degree in government. He participated in the Berkley Center's Junior Year Abroad Network while studying in Santiago, Chile during the fall 2007 semester. Nick grew up mainly in St. Louis, but has also lived in Spain, England, and Sweden for varying amounts of time. Raised in a Unitarian Universalist church, he has continued to explore religion in different settings. A jazz piano player, political activist and happy traveler, Nick looks forward to every opportunity to visit other cultures and countries. In Chile he did his best to learn how to cueca (the national dance), how to properly use Chilean slang (which makes learning cueca look like a piece of cake), and to understand another culture's attitudes towards faith and the role of religion.
