Richard L. Wood is president of the Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies at the University of Southern California and Professor Emeritus of sociology at the University of New Mexico. His scholarship spans the sociology of religion, social movements, public Catholicism, and democratic theory. Wood is the author of Faith in Action: Religion, Race, and Democratic Organizing in America (2002), and, with co-author Brad R. Fulton, of A Shared Future: Faith-Based Organizing for Racial Equity and Ethical Democracy (2015). Forthcoming works include Bridging Social Divides: Increasing Social Cohesion in a Fragmented Society (co-authored with Brad R. Fulton) and The Common Good in the Age of Artificial Intelligence co-edited with Jonathan Teubner and Ian Corbin. He serves as co-editor of the book series Social Theory, Religion & Politics at Cambridge University Press.
