W. Scott Poole is a professor of history at the College of Charleston who researches the intersection of horror, history, and culture. He is the author of Wasteland: The Great War and the Origins of Modern Horror (2018). He is also the author of Monsters in America and a Bram Stoker Award finalist for his biography of H.P. Lovecraft.
