Selena McCoy Carpenter serves as one of the country representatives for Mennonite Central Committee’s (MCC) programs in Kenya. Carpenter, along with her husband and two children, joined MCC for this term of service in July 2013. Prior to living and working in Kenya, Carpenter lived in Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked as a pediatric clinical research coordinator at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has been interested in food security and nutrition, particularly in vulnerable communities, in the United States and internationally. Carpenter and her family served a prior term with MCC in Haiti from 2001 until 2005. Selena holds a master's degree in education (in health promotion and behavior) from the University of Georgia.
