Sudipta Roy is program associate at WFDD and a Ph.D. candidate in Education Policy Studies program at the School of Education, Indiana University (IU) Bloomington. His dissertation research focuses on socio-environmental vulnerability and resilience among secondary school children in coastal Bangladesh. His broad research interests include localized and embodied understanding of risks and hazards, religious and cultural dimensions of risk perception and praxis, and participatory socio-cultural policy analysis. Sudipta has secured numerous awards and grants so far such as the Fulbright fellowship, Mellon Innovating International Research and Teaching grant, School of Education Fellowship at IU, American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) resident fellowship, Santosh Jain Memorial award, and several travel grants. Prior to joining WFDD, he has taught educational foundation courses at IU and Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI). Sudipta grew up in Bangladesh, where he obtained Bachelor and Master’s degrees in English from University of Dhaka. He is an avid fan of Bangladesh cricket team and a budding nature photographer!
