Umeyye Isra Yazicioglu is associate professor of religious studies at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her research interests include Islamic studies, classical and modern Qur'anic interpretation, Islamic theology, Islamic mysticism, Christian-Muslim relations, the philosophy of religion, the philosophy of science, and the Qur'an and science. She is the author of Understanding the Qur’anic Miracle Stories in the Modern Age (2013), plus a number of journal articles. Yazicioglu is a member of the American Academy of Religion and the National Society for Scriptural Reasoning. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
