William P. Loewe is an
associate professor of historical and systematic theology at the Catholic
University of America (CUA). A member of the CUA faculty since 1973, he has
focused on Christology and soteriology in his teaching. At various
times he has served as department chair and associate dean. Active in the
Catholic Theological Society of America and the College Theology Society, he
has served as president of the latter. In addition to numerous book
reviews and various book chapters his articles have appeared in the Anglican Theological Review, Catholic Biblical Quarterly, Heythrop Journal, Horizons, Living Light,
and Theological Studies. His
widely used College Student’s Introduction to Christology (1996) has
been translated into Portuguese, and he has co-edited two other books. He
received his B.A. in classics, philosophy, and French and M.A. in French
from Fordham University and a Ph.L. from Loyola Seminary. He received his Ph.D.
from Marquette University.
