This white paper, produced by non-governmental advisors serving on the Religion and Foreign Policy Working Group within the State Department’s 2012 Strategic Dialogue with Civil Society, offers advice for strengthening the State Department’s engagement with religious communities in support of U.S. foreign policy priorities. Through mechanisms provided by the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), the working group presented four recommendations to the U.S. Secretary of State, including the creation of a new office dedicated to religious engagement.
