This paper presents findings of a review of religious teaching in school textbooks in Bangladesh, conducted to explore how far these curricula contribute to the nation’s social cohesion objectives and to identify areas of concern and potential improvement.

This review focuses on the underlying question of the extent to which Bangladesh's education system provides young people with a foundation of values that are essential for a productive society. The aim is to contribute to a general understanding of the faith-linked education landscape in Bangladesh.
