The HIV/AIDS Epidemic

As part of its multi-year survey of critical issues at the intersection of religion and development, the Berkley Center has held events and developed publications focused on the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In October 2007 the Berkley Center published a report, targeted at multiple stakeholders, which reviews the work of faith-inspired leaders and communities in both global- and country-specific efforts to combat HIV/AIDS. A month later the Berkley Center hosted a presentation and discussion on the report for scholars and practitioners, featuring a presentation by Dr. Inon Schenker, Israel's leading professional in HIV/AIDS prevention, and a discussion of Georgetown University's HIV/AIDS Initiative.
