Seminar on Faith Communities and HIV/AIDS

Monday, November 5, 2007
Location: Berkley Center Map

This seminar included a presentation and discussion of the Berkley Center's report, "Faith Communities Engage the HIV/AIDS Crisis: Lessons Learned and Paths Forward." The report, based on work supported by a grant from the Henry R. Luce Foundation, maps the involvement of religious organizations and religious-secular cooperation around the global health crisis. The meeting featured a presentation by Dr. Inon Schenker, Israel's leading professional in HIV/AIDS prevention, and a discussion of Georgetown University's HIV/AIDS Initiative. Comments and reaction were provided by Lucy Keough, World Bank retired senior operational officer; Jessica Raper, special assistant for policy planning to the president of Georgetown University; and the Berkley Center's Katherine Marshall.
