In this Faith and Culture series discussion, former U.S. poet laureate Billy Collins reflected on the mystery of being alive and other themes from The Rain in Portugal, his twelfth collection of poetry. Paul Elie, Berkley Center senior fellow and author of The Life You Save May Be Your Own, a group portrait of four American Catholic writers, and Reinventing Bach, an account of the transformation of Bach's music in our time by great musicians working with new technology, moderated the conversation.

The event was sponsored by the Georgetown University Office of the President.
