Pluralism and Islam: An Interdisciplinary Assessment
Monday, June 14, 2021
12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. EDT
This online workshop devoted to Islam and pluralism gathered prominent scholars of theology, philosophy, and law for a panel discussion focused on the status of salvation and truth in Islam, the legal status of the other, and the current tensions and intersections between the legal and theological statuses of the other.
The webinar was designed in preparation for a forthcoming ResetDOC project that seeks to provide original insights on transformations in modern pluralism that are often overlooked, including challenges to theology and practices in all religions.
This event, part of the Theologies and Practices of Religious Pluralism project, was co-sponsored by Reset Dialogues on Civilizations, the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs at Georgetown University, the University of Birmingham, the Foundation for Religious Sciences in Bologna and Palermo, and the Center for the Study of Developing Societies.
