Workshop on Religion, Politics, and Society in the United States and the United Kingdom
Friday, January 21-22, 2011
Location:
Campion Hall, University of Oxford
With the support of the Luce/SFS Program on Religion and International Affairs, the Berkley Center ran a workshop on the changing role of religion in American and British society and politics at Oxford University. The workshop brought together leading scholars from both countries, across disciplines, to examine the shifting boundary between the religious and the secular, and the responses to the growth of Muslim minorities in particular. Following on a similar workshop held in June 2010 in Berlin, the meeting was also designed to identify promising research programs at the intersection of religion, politics, and world affairs on both sides of the Atlantic. The workshop was hosted by Campion Hall, Oxford.
