Center Welcomes Jocelyne Cesari

Islam expert Jocelyne Cesari has joined the Center as a Senior Research Fellow. She directs the international “Islam in the West" program and is the creator of Islamopedia, a leading online resource for the contemporary study of Islam in society and politics. At the Center, she will continue to lead both projects and develop a new program on Islam in World Politics.

On April 19-20, the Center is convening student leaders from around the country for a symposium to mark the release of a groundbreaking survey of young Americans on values, religion, and the 2012 election. Fathali Moghaddam Publishes New Book on Intergroup Relations

Georgetown University Psychology Professor and Berkley Center Faculty Fellow Fathali M. Moghaddam has published Theories of Intergroup Relations: Psychological Perspectives in Global Context (2026). This book examines major theories of intergroup behavior, including perspectives on identity, conflict, justice, multiculturalism, and intergroup contact. The Hoya spoke with Moghaddam about the book and his research on intergroup relations.
