Omniculturalism as Transformational Wisdom: Actively Celebrating Human Similarities

Author: Fathali Moghaddam

May 29, 2026

Managing growing societal diversity requires moving past frameworks that divide us. In this chapter from the Palgrave Handbook of Transformational Wisdom (2026), Fathali Moghaddam contends that multiculturalism's focus on glorifying group differences has instead fostered intergroup conflicts and hindered minority progress, particularly in education. As an alternative, Moghaddam introduces "omniculturalism," an approach rooted in human similarity, and argues that this approach can be used to address urgent global challenges like climate change.
