Environmental Justice, Public Health, and Community-Based Scientific Education in Historically Marginalized Urban Communities: The Caño Martín Peña Partnership
In June 2026, Myha Hill (H'28) will conduct research on how community-engaged scientific education at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón contributes to environmental justice advocacy and public health efforts in the Caño Martín Peña communities in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her study aims to understand how scientific data is produced and used by students, faculty, and community partners, and what this reveals about the role of education in supporting equity and community-driven change.
