Andrew Downing, S.J. is currently the director of Ignatian Programs in the Office of Mission and Ministry at Georgetown University. He previously worked at Saint Peter's University and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. Fr. Downing holds a master's degree in philosophical resources from Fordham University, an M. Div. and ST.L from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology, and a Ph.D. in theology from Fordham University.

Myha Hill (H'28) is an undergraduate student in the Berkley School of Health from New York City, majoring in global health with a minor in justice and peace studies. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of health and social justice, and she is particularly interested in how structural inequality and conflict shape population health and access to care. At Georgetown, she serves as an editor for the Georgetown Scientific Research Journal and tutors creative writing for incarcerated students at the Alexandria Detention Center. Outside of school, she is an intern with the American Public Health Association at the Center for Climate, Health, and Equity. In her free time, she enjoys going on long walks, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends and family. Myha is a 2026 Education and Social Justice Fellow.

Helal Mohammed Khan is an assistant teaching professor in the Justice and Peace Studies (JUPS) program at Georgetown University. His scholarship explores identity, hope, and spatial placemaking, examining how cooperation shapes collective well-being. Khan holds a Ph.D. in peace studies and anthropology from the University of Notre Dame. He was previously a presidential fellow at the Kroc Institute, a doctoral affiliate at the Kellogg Institute and a justice fellow at the Center for Social Concerns. Khan also served in the Bangladesh Army and worked as a commander for a special forces team with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Mara Lewis (C‘27) is an undergraduate student in the Georgetown University College of Arts & Sciences studying psychology with a minor in education, inquiry, and justice. She was raised in Derry, Pennsylvania, and loves immersing herself in the Georgetown and broader DC community. Around campus, Mara plays on the women’s ultimate frisbee team, works at the Writing Center, volunteers as a research assistant in Professor Jennifer Woolard’s community research group, and is a current Laidlaw Scholar. In her free time, Mara enjoys exploring museums and cafes around DC, crafting, and walking in the Georgetown neighborhood. She is passionate about the intersection of education and social justice, particularly how educational institutions foster belonging. In the future, she hopes to become a clinical psychologist and work with youth navigating the education system. Mara is a 2026 Education and Social Justice Fellow.

Maya Mohosin (C’27) is an undergraduate student in the College of Arts & Sciences at Georgetown University studying government and justice and peace studies. She is passionate about advancing justice on a global scale and working with vulnerable and displaced communities. On campus, she is involved with Campus Ministry, focusing on communications. Maya has worked on Capitol Hill, in marketing at Prudential Financial, and supported nonprofit social work for youth affected by conflict in the MENA region. She also has past experience in interfaith peacebuilding among Muslims and Christians in Amman, Jordan and Jakarta, Indonesia. She is especially interested in international law, interfaith dialogue, and storytelling as tools for justice. In her free time, you can find her trying new restaurants, taking photos, or traveling. Maya is a member of the Human Fraternity Fellows Program 2025 cohort and is a 2026 Education and Social Justice Fellow.

Livi Ray (C’28), from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, is pursuing a major in public policy and a minor in psychology. She is passionate about educational access and has taught preschool and fourth grade reading through AmeriCorps and Teach For America. At Georgetown, Livi is a Blue & Gray tour guide, a research assistant at the McCourt School of Public Policy, an Alumni Relations intern, and a board member of the 1634 Society. She is interested in how people think about politics, the use of technology to expand educational opportunity, and the application of human-centered design to governance. In her free time, Livi enjoys reading, volunteering with her church’s children’s ministry, and visiting DC art museums. Livi is a 2026 Education and Social Justice Fellow.

Rachel Rochford (SFS'27) is an undergraduate student in the School of Foreign Service. She is majoring in international politics with a concentration in international security studies. Rachel is also pursuing a minor in justice and peace studies and a certificate in diplomatic studies. On campus, Rachel works to create a positive dialogical environment for first-year students as a coordinator of the Leadership & Beyond Pre-Orientation Program, Cornerstone Mentor, and ESCAPE Leader. She also conducts research at the intersection of peace and security as a Laidlaw Scholar and as an Undergraduate Research Scholar. Off campus, Rachel has interned for the American Security Project, the National War College, the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy, the International Trade Administration, and other organizations, seeking to better understand how governmental and non-governmental actors contribute to global peace and security. She is a member of the 2026 Doyle Dialogue Fellows cohort.

Kayla Wontumi (H'27) is a senior in Georgetown University’s School of Health, majoring in global health with a minor in science, technology, and international affairs. With a profound interest in advancing health equity, addressing maternal and child health disparities, and examining the intersection of policy frameworks and health systems, she has actively been engaged in numerous research pursuits and coursework to deepen her understanding of complex global health issues. As a 2025-2026 recipient of the Maeve Kennedy McKean Global Health Award, Kayla explored drivers of mental health experiences among pregnant women in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Kayla is a 2026 Education and Social Justice Fellow.
