Doyle Engaging Difference Program

Innovative Learning Experiences that Authentically and Constructively Engage Differences

The Doyle Engaging Difference Program supports innovative learning experiences that equip Georgetown University students and faculty to authentically and constructively engage differences inside and outside the classroom. Now in its second decade, the Doyle Program continues to foster space for critical discussion and debate on intercultural and interreligious difference, enabling Hoyas to become engaged global citizens in an increasingly pluralistic world.

The program is made possible through the generosity of William J. Doyle (C’72), former chairman of the Georgetown University Board of Directors. For more information, visit the Doyle Program website. See below for archived content from Doyle programs administered by the Berkley Center.

The Doyle Global Dialogue, formerly the Junior Year Abroad Network (JYAN), has supported over 650 students studying abroad in more than 60 countries since 2006, providing a platform for interreligious and intercultural reflection and dialogue. See the archive of JYAN student reflections (2006 to 2020) on their interreligious and intercultural experiences abroad. More information on the Doyle Global Dialogue can be found here.

Doyle Seminars are small, upper-level classes that foster dialogue on diversity and difference through student research and co-curricular learning. More information on the Doyle Seminars program and the full archive of past courses can be found here.

The Doyle Undergraduate Fellows program brings together faculty and students to foster student engagement with difference through scholarship and intercultural dialogue on campus, in the DC community, and around the world. More information on the program and the full archive of fellows can be found here.
