Location: Online Zoom Webinar

The forced migration of people in today’s world is at a record high. Efforts to remedy displacement are moving far too slowly. Religious attitudes and actions play important roles in both causing and responding to forced migration, though these religious roles are often overlooked or inadequately understood. This webinar introduced the Berkley Center’s exploration of the religious aspects of forced migration. It considered religious approaches to forced migration, including the global compacts on migration and on refugees. Where are the gaps in religious response? How can we enhance appreciation of religious contributions? Deepened understanding of these religious dimensions will be vital to a more adequate approach to today’s historic levels of forced migration.
