Spring 2024 Student Symposium: REWA Minors

This paper focuses on the role of public religion in the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge and the Cambodian genocide. I discuss the public roles of the three most prevalent religions within Cambodia, namely Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. While the paper focuses on Cambodia itself, it will also discuss the role of international religious networks in bringing back both aid and religious infrastructure into the country after the Khmer Rouge’s collapse.
