Religious communities and global leaders across the world share a priority focus on action to end hunger and poverty, leading goals set by United Nations Member States in 2015. Brazil, which holds the G20 presidency in 2024, has focused on mobilizing renewed support for multisector action that would build on Brazil's and international success here. The G20 Interfaith Forum, representing a diverse network of religiously inspired networks, supports the Global Alliance to End Hunger and Poverty, to be launched in November 2024 at the G20 Summit.
This webinar, moderated by Senior Fellow Katherine Marshall, highlighted Brazil's experience and its leadership on the topic as a G20 priority, religious teachings and action on hunger and poverty, and specific action steps looking to the November summit and beyond.
This event was co-sponsored by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs at Georgetown University and the G20 Interfaith Forum.
