Located on the U.S.-Mexico border in South Texas, Laredo is a city defined by its rich, complex history. The city has a strong Catholic heritage dating back to its founding by 1755 and has one of the highest proportions of Hispanic residents in the United States. When the American Pilgrimage Project traveled to Laredo in 2016, residents from various backgrounds came together to share personal reflections on the ways their faith informs family life and cultural identity.
